Heather Shepard

Heather is a registered nurse and long-time advocate in the recovery community, celebrating 13 years in recovery. Early in her journey, she found her passion for service while working as a secretary at Bulloch County Drug and Alcohol. That calling grew into a nursing career focused on compassionate, high-standards care, including work as an RN in inpatient substance-use treatment. Today, Heather serves patients at Coastal Carolina Hospital as a PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) Nurse, while remaining actively involved in the local recovery community. She also serves as Vice President of Light the Way, supporting the mission at the will of the board and helping expand access to support for individuals and families impacted by addiction.
